Christmas Break

The 'Kim Young Sae Fashion Show" took place on December 12th in Seoul at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Several famous figures were invited to act as models, including the Fashion Model of the Fairways herself, Soo-Yun Kang. Kangsy got a striking new hairdo to go along with the outfits she wore.

They also gave awards out at the concurrent 23rd Korean Best Dresser Award Show. Kangsy won the award as the best dressed sports stars. Nice to see her collecting the plaudits again!

Nine of the top Korean golf stars spent the weekend of December 15th in a pitched battle with some of the top stars in International golf. The event was the Lexus Cup, and it is profiled elsewhere in this issue. Grace Park, who has had a bit of a rough season in 2006, finally got to participate in a success story. Being the captain of her team, she even got to hoist the victory trophy!

The same weekend as the Lexus Cup, Gloria Park got married to her fiancé of one year. Gloria Park's wedding took place on the 16th of December. She married Hee Taek Chang, who is 27 years old, a year older than Gloria. The wedding took place in Seoul at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (the same place as Soo-Yun Kang's modeling gig!).

The two met back in high school when Gloria lived in Australia, before she turned pro. They reconnected in 2004, when Gloria played the CJ 9 Bridges Classic on Cheju Island. After the wedding, they honeymooned in Dubai. Gloria and her hubby returned to Las Vegas in the New Year, where she resumed her training for the LPGA.

Unfortunately, the timing was bad, what with so many of the Korean golfers at the Lexus Cup that weekend. Still, the family had a wonderful time, and though this wedding was more low key than Hee-Won Han's was three years ago, it still got a fair amount of media attention.
