Other notable stats:
T-47th in driving accuracy (72.7%); 62nd in putting (29.88); 107th in driving distance (246.1 yards); 41st in Rounds under par (37)

Notable achievements:
Gloria Park went on one of her patented runs towards the end of the season, notching four straight top 20s including a 2nd place at the CJ 9 Bridges Classic.

Her final round 62 at the CJ 9 Bridges was not only her best score ever, but also broke the course and tournament record by three strokes. It vaulted her from the 20s into a tie for 2nd.

Assessment:
Gloria Park had a very typical season for her. For much of the year she was not on the radar. She did not even have her first top ten until the British Open, where she tied for 10th. A couple of months later, she caught fire, leaping up the money list after notching a 10th, a 2nd, a 7th and a 16th in consecutive weeks.

Unfortunately, Gloria is still one of the most inconsistent of all the Seoul Sisters. As she showed at the 9 Bridges, when she is on she can be an incredible force on the golf course. But when she is off she can be quite ordinary, and she is off more often than she is on.

However, like Jeong Jang, one needs to remember that Gloria Park is still quite young, and her best days may still be ahead of her.

In the Majors, she was not very impressive, missing two of four cuts and finishing 42nd at the Nabisco. But just when you were ready to write off her season, she had a very good British Open which resulted in a 10th place finish. Again, typical Gloria Park.

What she should work on:
Consistency, consistency, consistency. I think she just needs to become all around more consistent in everything she does. She has the explosiveness, but like Se Ri Pak in 1998 is not doing much when that is failing her. She needs a way to post a good result even when she is not playing well. Practice may bring this about in time.

Final Grade:
B- Summary:
Gloria is doing pretty much the same thing as usual, but this year she did not manage to collect any wins. It was thus a little bit worse than normal for her.
Jung Yeon Lee
Money list total: $261,587 (37th)
Scoring Average: 71.43 (25th)
Player of the Year Total: 15.80 (38th)
Wins: 0
Majors: 0 (no top tens)
Top 2's: 1 (and one outside of LPGA)
Top 5's: 1 (and one outside of LPGA)
Top 10's: 3 (and one outside of LPGA)
Missed cuts: 6
Birdies: 268 (24th)
Eagles: 6 (T-20)
Greens in Regulation: .657 (51st)
Other notable stats:
T-123rd in driving accuracy (64.3%); T-36th in putting (29.65); 8th in driving distance (266.1 yards)

Notable achievements:
Jung Yeon managed her first ever top 2 performance, and actually had a chance to go into a playoff, but was not able to make the crucial birdie putt.

Jung Yeon was in the top ten in driving, and had good results in several statistical categories.

Assessment:
Jung Yeon Lee is a powerful player who hits the ball a long way, but her accuracy has prevented her from being a particularly good player. While her accuracy is still low, it improved markedly, especially towards the end of the year. Suddenly, she began notching top tens. In all her career before the Longs Drugs this year, she had only one top ten to her credit. She then got three in a row, as well as three more top twenty performances and a second place in a KLPGA event, all towards the end of the season.

Her Major performance was pretty weak; she only played in three, missed the cut in two and finished 46th in the LPGA Championship. But that was before her breakout at the end of the season.

What she should work on:
Jung Yeon is showing signs that she can become a top player. She has the strength, the conditioning and the distance. But she still lacks accuracy. Her next effort should focus on keeping the ball in the fairway. That in turn will improve her greens in regulation, and should give her a lot of short looks at the green given her length.

Final Grade:
A- Summary:
This was definitely a minor breakthrough for Jung Yeon. If it had come a month or two earlier, she might have contended a couple more times, and would have rated a bit higher. Still, she climbed into the top 40 on the money list, a great achievement for her.
