Se Ri charged out to a huge lead after two rounds with back to back 66's. She then stalled in the third round, and Karrie Webb made her customary third round charge. Se Ri ended up tied after regulation with Laura Davies and Karrie, barely missing a longish birdie putt on the last. In the playoff, Se Ri put her first shot behind a tree, then hit a brilliant 8-iron curving punch shot to within 4 feet. She won (although Davies barely missed a chip in). It was the third time Se Ri beat Karrie in 1999.
