Robyn Choi is a woman of Korean ethnicity born in
Sydney, Australia and raised on the Gold Coast. She attended the
University of Colorado starting in 2016.
In Fall of 2018, Choi attended the LPGA's Q-Series,
where she managed to finish tied for 45th. This earned her one of
the final category 14 tour cards for the 2019 season. She decided
to leave college and turn join the LPGA.
In 2019, Choi played 13 LPGA events and 9 Symetra
Tour events. For the most part she missed the cut on the LPGA; her
best finish was a t-36th at the team event the Dow Great Lakes Bay
Invitational. She lost her tour card for 2020.
In early 2020, she returned to Australia, where
she played 2 events on sponsor's invites. They ended up being her
two best LPGA finishes ever: a t-34th at the Handa Women's Australian
Open, and a t-6th at the Vic Open. She even had a decent chance
to win at the Vic, but came up just short.
Choi spent the next several years on the Symetra/Epson
Tour but was not able to regain her LPGA membership. Finally, in
2023, she went to Q-Series and had a fantastic week, sitting in
or near the lead all week and eventually winning Q-Series outright.
She earned a full card for the 2024 season.
