Na Rin's breakout season came in 2020. The Covid
outbreak forced the cancelation of multiple events, but they did
finally get things going again in the late Spring. She started the
year with 6 top twenties in her first seven starts. She had a so-so
summer, but in the autumn things started to pick up again. After
a 10th place, she grabbed her first win at the Autech Carrier Championship
in early October. She got a second win a month later at the Hana
Financial Championship. She ended the year 4th on the money list,
with over 600 million won earned. Besides the two wins, she had
five other top tens, including a third.
Na Rin also played in the States for the first time.
She finished 63rd at the US Women's Open in December.
Na Rin was only a little less successful in 2021.
She finished 9th on the money list. She did not win, but she had
11 top tens including two runner-up results. She made virtually
the same amount of money as in 2020. She also had a great week at
the BMW Championship, the annual LPGA stop in Korea. Although she
couldn't keep up with Jin Young Ko and Hee Jeong Lim, who separated
themselves from the pack, she did finish third.
One of the reasons Na Rin started golf was so that
she could play the sport all over the world, so she entered herself
into LPGA Q-Series at the end of 2021 to try to earn a tour card.
She was up near the top for the entire thing, and in the final round
shot a 66, the lowest round of the day, to catch the leader and
finish first at 33 under. She had earned full status for the LPGA
tour in 2022.
Na Rin had a decent LPGA rookie season the following
year. She started the year well, contending early at the JTBC Classic
in March, where she finished solo third, her career best finish.
She managed a tie for third at the Portland Classic in September,
shooting a final round 64 in the process. She had three additional
tie for 6th finishes during the year. She made nearly $650,000 in
2022, easily maintaining her tour membership by finishing 47th on
the money list.
2023 was a bit of an off year for Narin. She only
had one top ten, a 4th place finish at the Drive On Championship
early in the year. She had a good finish at the KPMG, a t-30th,
her new best Major result. In the end she finished 72nd on the money
list with almost $400,000 earned, which was good enough for her
to maintain her full status on the LPGA tour for 2024.
