The Cinderellas Meet

These two women have a claim to fame that no other player on the LGPA has. They are the only two players from the KLPGA tour to have won an LPGA event before becoming members of the LPGA. Both of them, of course, won the CJ 9 Bridges Classic, the lone LPGA event contested in Korea. Each year a few KLPGA stars are invited to participate in the tournament. In 2003, it was the lady on the right, Shi Hyun Ahn, who stunned the top LPGA players by taking the trophy. Jee Young Lee, on the left, duplicated the feat in 2005. Their reward was a two year LPGA tour card, and the eternal nickname in Korea of 'Cinderella'. Shi Hyun parlayed that card into a Rookie of the Year trophy in 2004; time will tell whether Jee Young will follow her lead in 2006. But there's no denying that the two of them are having a lot of fun, long after the clock struck midnight!
