Se Ri's Hall of Fame Career

2002:
April:
Se Ri edges Annika at the Office Depot Championship for her 14th career win. She is 24.

May:
Samsung announced it is severing ties with her.

June:
Se Ri wins the McDonald's LPGA Championship in amazing fashion. She thus becomes the youngest in history to win four Majors.

August:
In a display of utter dominance, Se Ri roars from behind to crush the field at the Betsy King Classic. Her final round 63 is still one of her greatest rounds.

October:
Se Ri successfully defends her title at the Tournament of Champions, then the next week, wins the inaugural 9 Bridges Classic, played in her native country of Korea, in a rout. The weather is some of the worst the LPGA has ever played in, with temperatures so cold that snow squalls occurred.

At season's end, Se Ri again finishes second on the money list to Annika. Hall of Fame Point total: 22.

2003:
January:
Se Ri signs a new long term sponsorship deal with CJ, another large Korean conglomerate.

March:
After missing the cut at the opening event of the season, Se Ri comes back with another of her greatest performances. The event is the Safeway Ping, and she roars from three shots back to edge the field with a final round 64. Included here was the amazing 45 foot par save she made after hitting her drive into the water on the second to last hole. Grace finishes second and Hee-Won ties for third, the first one-two-three Korean finish in LPGA history.

April:
Se Ri had another big battle on her hands at the Chick-Fil-A. But after another final round 64 and four masterfully played playoff holes, Se Ri sunk an 18 footer to win.

May:
Se Ri returned to Korea and won her first KLPGA event since joining the LPGA, the MBC X-Canvas.

August:
After slumping throughout much of the summer, Se Ri had an excellent chance to win her 5th Major at the British Open, but stumbled a bit on Saturday, and then again at the very end, to lose by one. However, she won her next event, her 4th Jamie Farr Kroger Classic. She now had amassed 25 HOF point.

September:
Se Ri played wonderfully at her first men's event, the KBS Super Tournament. She not only became the first woman in 58 years to make the cut in a men's event, she finished tenth.

Unfortunately, this took quite a bit out of her, and though she contended in several of the remaining events in 2003, she was not able to get another win.

Luck was with her in another way, however. Annika Sorenstam miscalculated how many rounds she would play during 2003, and thus did not play enough to qualify for the Vare Trophy, allowing Se Ri to capture it. Hall of Fame Point total: 26.

2004:
May:
It was not a great start to her season, but finally, Se Ri broke through with her first win of the year at the Michelob Ultra Open Championship. The win secured her 27th HOF point and qualified her for the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame. However, she will not be inducted until:

2007:
Se Ri officially notches ten years on tour when she plays her fifteenth event in this year. A few months later, she will become the first Korean to get inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Congratulations in advance, Se Ri!
