Se Ri Visits a Sick Child
One thing Se Ri Pak has always taken time to do is to help children. She feels particular sympathy with sick or disadvantaged youngsters. One of the first charities to which she contributed (back in 1998) was an urban golf program that paid for equipment and lessons for aspiring inner city golfers. The various charity fashion shows she has been in have benefited charities such as UNICEF, the United Nations Children's fund. And when she gets a chance, she loves to make a sick kid's day by dropping in on them and giving them autographed gifts.

Se Ri visits a special fan

She did it again last week. The Office Depot's chief charity is the City of Hope Hospital. On March 31st, Se Ri visited a young fan named Jonathan Sugianto, who was being treated for leukemia there. She spent some time with him and gave him an autographed hat. As you can tell, he had a blast, and Se Ri sure seemed to, as well!

Samwon Gardens mobbed by Grace Park fans
Last issue, we talked about how Grace's father always gives discounts following a win by Grace. Because it was her first Major win, he decided to extend the deal for two days. The result was pandemonium! Huge crowds showed up both days, with long lines snaking around the block waiting to get in at both of his Seoul-based restaurants. Indeed, on Monday, they were forced to close a little early in order to get everyone in. It's all the more amazing when you consider that one of the places is a block in size and seats more than a thousand.

Even Nike's Korean team, eager to celebrate their sponsoree's success, found themselves turned away when they went Monday afternoon! Still, they were far from disappointed, I'm sure. Witness how Grace Park took over the primary spot on Nike's Web page, a spot normally reserved for Mr. Tiger Woods! And they also placed a full page ad in USA Today, featuring a huge photo of Grace driving the ball with her Nike Ignite driver. The spread is so big I can't even scan it on my scanner! Way to go, Grace!

Can you stand more Grace news?
Here are two recent good articles about Grace Park. Enjoy!

Building an LPGA Superstar

Park Face of Korean Golfers

And for those of you who enjoy video clips!
Dig these recent news stories about the ladies. They are in Korean, though there are some parts in English. They are about the Korean players, particularly Grace, Aree Song and Michelle Wie, at the recent Nabisco Championship:

Korean players at Nabisco. Pay special attention towards the end of this report. There is a scene of Korean players practicing. Not so unusual, but note the conditions. It tells you all you need to know about why the Seoul Sisters are so good!

Recap of the tournament

Grace also made the cover of GolfWeek last week! That's great, but the picture is unfortunate: it looks like Adam Scott, who won the PGA's Player's Championship, is punching Grace!!
Money List
Grace had an off-week last week following her Major win, but still managed a top twenty. However, Annika resumed her usual spot atop the money list, and Grace is now second. Mi Hyun Kim had her best performance so far this year to move up from 12th to 6th, and Young Kim also made some strides. Se Ri Pak has yet to have a big payday this year, and slipped a few more spots.
