Shi Hyun Ahn - Supermodel? An interesting photo shows Shi Hyun in an entirely different light! Did you recognize her?

Shi Hyun greets Louise Suggs, LPGA cofounder and namesake of the Rookie of the Year Trophy, at the party where Shi Hyun received that prize.

Dam! Grace models in an interesting shot on a dam.

The following pictures came from an article I stumbled upon in a Korean women's magazine (no fair asking what I was doing reading Korean women's magazines!!) called 'Housewife's Life'. It's one of those thick glossy mags that contain something like 400 pages of ads. This particular issue was chock full of interesting articles about celebrities I like from Korea, including two of my favorite actors. And of course, Se Ri!

The issue came out shortly after Se Ri won the Michelob Ultra and entered the Hall of Fame. The caption in the big picture says just that: 'Entering the Hall of Fame, Se Ri Pak: Meet this 27 year old woman away from the fairways'.

The article is part of a series that is written by a woman named Song Joo Han, who was Miss Korea in 1994 (technically, she was the #1 Miss Korea that year - apparently there are three grades of Miss Korea, something I did not know!) and who now works as a reporter and television personality. You can see her with Se Ri in some of the photos.

The article itself was pretty funny. It was largely about how much trouble the reporter had in getting an interview with Se Ri during this year's KLPGA X-Canvas Championship. But that was OK, she says, because she realizes Se Ri has important things on her mind - like defending her title. Yeesh! Some insight there!

Anyway, she finally does corral Se Ri one morning and interview her. But it's more like small talk. She praises Se Ri's unpretentiousness repeatedly, and at one point gives her an earring she thinks will go better with Se Ri's outfits than the one she has on. She also notes how organized Se Ri's room is; everything is unpacked and neatly folded and put away. Se Ri says that when you live out of a suitcase, it's important to make wherever you stay as much like home as possible. The writer also jokes about how everything Se Ri says always seems to revolve around golf. Even when the reporter asks about a favorite teacher (the interview took place near National Teacher's Day in Korea), it's a golf coach Se Ri mentions. Se Ri is there with a pal named Yoo Ra, about whom not much is said other than that she is younger than Se Ri (this is not Se Ri's sister Yoo Ri, who is mentioned elsewhere).

One interesting part of the article deals with Se Ri's fashion. She said that about three years ago, she made a conscious decision to start dressing in a more stylish way. She started to get her clothes designed specifically for her, and requested that the outfits be made to show off her 'womanly shape' (I'm only quoting the article here!). I think you can really notice how much better she looks when you compare her more recent photos with some of the older, more conservative outfits she wore in her first years on tour.

All in all, the article was complimentary, but pretty fluffy; I think I learned more about the reporter than Se Ri! But the photos are cool, aren't they?

Hey Kids! Here are some more pix from the magazine (click to enlarge!)
I don't want to forget Kimmie! She has laid pretty low this last month, so much so that there aren't too many photos of her floating around. So here's a nice one from earlier in 2004. Great smile!

Another cute, smaller pic of Mi Hyun from a while ago.

That's it for the bonus stuff, but click on 'Gallery' below to
