And then, just like that, the wheels came off. Moving Day it was on Saturday, but for Peanut it was moving day in the wrong direction. Of all the players in the top 30, Mi Hyun had the worst score on this day, a 2 over 74. It not only knocked her out of the tournament, it knocked her out of the top 20. And though her ball striking may not have been as strong on this day, her main problem continued to be her putter. And thus, an event where she had a chance to make some noise and get her season started turned quickly into another disappointment.

Mi Hyun recovered with a 69 on Sunday, but the scoring was such that this barely helped her standing in the tournament. She ended up with a tie for 25th place finish, pretty much the same result she had had the week before. When Mi Hyun starts to have trouble like this (and for a player of her caliber, consecutive finishes in the 20s are not reason to celebrate), her first instinct is to change equipment or personnel surrounding her. Fortunately for her caddie, she decided the problem was her putter, and when she went to Chicago the next week, she showed up with one of the oddest putters I have ever seen. This sucker had a tiny face, barely bigger than the ball itself. It seemed actually possible to whiff a putt if one weren't careful. Time will tell how this gizmo helps or hinders Mi Hyun!
